It’s that time of year! My kids love driving around and looking at Christmas lights. Honestly, I love it too. It helps me get in the holiday season. I always put our Christmas decorations up the day after Thanksgiving, well the last two years we put them up Thanksgiving night after dinner. It’s only for one month a year and I love how the house looks with twinkling lights spread throughout. It’s cozy.
There are lots of light displays around here this time of year. For the last two years we have gone to the Wayne County Lightfest on Hines Drive. The kids love this. I love it because we get to stay in a warm car and still see the pretty holiday lights. If you would like to check it out you can read the details here. Keep in mind these pictures were taken from a moving car, a slow moving car but still…a moving car.
The other event we have gone to this year was the Holiday Light Parade in Folwerville. My brother-in-law is a police officer there and and this was the first year we went with the family to this event. It was really cool. Local business turn their trucks into floats, and pass out candy. They also have over 40 hot air balloon pilots with their fires blazing down the parade route. It was really bright and warm when they went down the street. Really a very cool event! You can read more about it here.
This is my son and nephew when the hot air balloon pilots were passing us. It was really bright and hot!
We had a great time at both events!
